BAE Systems is looking for a Junior Systems Engineer to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting sustainment efforts for the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile weapon system. The Minuteman III is a 1970s era weapon system and is scheduled to be retained as the United States military's prompt, global strike deterrent system until at least 2030. To maintain the system, a number of issues associated with obsolescence of the system will be addressed. Qualified candidates will:
Perform professional technical work which is complex in nature and requires in-depth knowledge and diversified application of systems engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques generally used to solve problems within a defined field of technology and ensure execution of systems engineering processes across the lifecycle.
Participate in Development, review, and verification of Technical Requirements; Preliminary and Critical Design Review; Test Plan Reviews; Documentation Reviews; Drawing Reviews; and Acquisition Documentation Development.
Perform Systems Requirements Analysis (SRA) to assure program objectives and system-level requirements are met and integration of system functions, elements, and requirements are involving all of the necessary engineering disciplines in the process.
Validate analysis of components and subsystems using both common application programs and more advanced programs. Verify and document results of trade studies then provide results to program teams.
Review test plans to ensure testing is verifying the requirements. Coordinate product transition to operations as required.
Review and/or generate written reports supporting the design, analyses and test of the product design including drawings, engineering specifications, and other associated documentation. Report on project status and progress measured against specific plans. Prepare design review packages and present data to both internal and external customers.
Provide feedback to improve processes, and work to meet engineering objectives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the systems engineering disciplines. Ensure cost effectiveness and development of design.
