Provide guidance in implementing Information Technology (IT) security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.
Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection system security evaluations, audits and reviews.
Develop and implement training on system security policies and procedures for users.
Establish and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance program to cover file backup and recovery, equipment maintenance, and quality control of systems processing and outputs.
Apply information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of all Information Technology (IT) services.
Install and maintain all Information Assurance related hardware and software products.

_Specialized Experience:_
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as experience applying IT security principles and methods sufficient to evaluate, implement, and disseminate IT security procedures and practices and to ensure compliance with security requirements. Performing oversight and monitoring server configurations, collecting auditing data in the event of a security incident, assisting with server deployment, and evaluating and/or implementing significant modifications to a system. And experience updating trouble tickets using standard trouble management systems.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. The individual selected will be subject to an investigation in conjunction with granting of a security clearance prior to appointment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
