The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. As a Secretary (OA), you will be responsible for the following duties:
Serves as the principal office assistant, performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Site Commander.
Maintains the Site Commander's daily calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules appointments, meetings and/or conferences without prior approval based on a personal knowledge of the Commander's commitments, priorities, workload and current issues of importance.
Makes extensive travel arrangements, such as scheduling transportation, making hotel/government quarters reservations, and preparing travel orders and vouchers based on general travel intentions, known preferences of the traveler, and in accordance with appropriate travel regulations.
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other materials submitted for the Commander's signature.
Establishes, monitors suspense dates, brings to Commander's attention those that cannot be met by requested date or when there is a conflict and request extensions.
Receives telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening callers or visitors to appropriate staff on the basis of knowledge of programs or operations.
Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.
To qualify for a Secretary (OA), your resume must support:
A. Applicants for this position must be a qualified typist (40 WPM). You must indicate on your application how many words per minute (WPM) you can type. Failure to identify your typing speed will result in lost consideration

B. Specialized
Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must be at the GS-06 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Examples of creditable specialized
Experience:
Experience in establishing and tracking office suspenses.
Experience scheduling, managing, and maintaining executives' calendars and creating appointments.
Experience reviewing outgoing correspondence for accuracy.
C. Education. As a general rule, education is not creditable above a GS-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
