This is an Air Force Pathways Internship position located at Hill AFB, Utah. The Pathways Intern Program is a planned, progressive education program that provides for the integration of a student's academic studies with target positions in the Federal Workforce. The Pathways Intern Program allows students to gain real, paid work experience while pursuing a diploma, degree or certificate in a particular career field. Work locations vary throughout Hill Air Force Base, and the duties performed are designed to provide hands-on experience in the specific discipline for which hired. At the agency's discretion, students who successfully complete all academic and on-the-job training requirements, meet qualification requirements, and meet other eligibility requirements may be offered permanent positions with the Air Force. PERMANENT PLACEMENT IS NEITHER GUARANTEED NOR MANDATORY. You must be recommended for permanent placement by the management of your agency or organization. Placement would be into an entry-level position that includes work directly related to your education, which may or may not have further noncompetitive promotion potential.

This intern position is located in 309th Software Maintenance Group at HillAFB. However, this announcement may be used to fill other intern positions at Hill AFB.

As a Student Trainee (Configuration Management), GS-0399-04/05, in the Pathways Program you will work effectively with peers and supervisors. You will also:
Adhere to the orgainization's rules, policies and standards of conduct.
Make a genuine effort to effectively develop the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the position.
Complete all required on-the-job training, minimum of 640 hours, before or concurrently with education requirements.
Internship positions may be filled at GS-04 or GS-05 levelsdependent upon verification of education qualification requirements (below).
REQUIREMENTS FOR INITIAL APPOINTMENT
To qualify for a GS-04: Completion of 2 academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
To qualify for a GS-05: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or comletion of 4 academic years of pre-professional study.
NOTE An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or a minimum of 36 weeks at an accredited busness, technical, vocational, or qualifying educational institution for at least 20 classroom hours per week. Pre-professional study is academic study, credentialing, or training beyond the post-baccalaureate level that prepares the individual to practice a specific profession. Examples include Juris Doctor, Master of Science in Social Work, or Doctor of Pharmacy.

Pursuing a Baccalaureate Degree in any field of study
Enrollment must be at least half-time course load as defined by the educational institution (typically six hours or equivalent)
Maintain good academic standing (typically no less than 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
