United States Citizens Multiple Appointment Types Multiple Schedules Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM. The base performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10 and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities include skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley. A list of eligible candidates is being established and may be used to fill multiple vacancies for a period of 12 months (or more). Types of appointments may include: Full time permanent positions; OR full time term positions Not-to-Exceed 13 months, with extension possible; OR full time temporary positions not to exceed 1 year, with a 1 year extension possible. Term and Temporary appointments made from this register may be converted to permanent without further competition.

You will also:
Perform Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) services to callers with medical emergencies.
Maintain maps, checklists, and charts, including automated programs.
Operate and maintain telephones, automated data processing equipment, printers, recorders, facsimile equipment, and other devices installed in the dispatch center.
Prepare and maintain reports and records relating to emergency responses. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this position that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) pay band or equivalent. _Specialized experience_ is described as skilled in operating and monitoring emergency response equipment including police, firefighting, hazardous materials, wild land firefighting technical rescue and ambulance services, and providing advanced emergency medical dispatch life support through pre-arrival instructions to callers.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, but you must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas as reported on your r sum
1. Knowledge of communications operations to include a basic knowledge of trunked radio operations, and patching radio frequencies.
2. Knowledge of basic computer operations to include word processing, retrieval and input of data. A qualified typist is not required.
3. Knowledge of location and availability of vehicle fleet, the type of apparatus and equipment needed for the emergency at hand, and a basic knowledge of firefighting techniques and terminology.
4. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing using a calm and stable demeanor while dealing with emergency situations.

1. Incumbent must maintain International Fire Service Accreditation Congress Certification as a Telecommunicator, Level II (or state dispatch certification).
2. Incumbent is required to work on alternate work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty (including weekends and holidays).
3. Incumbent is required to perform critical services regardless of weather conditions or base closure and report to the duty station at the regularly scheduled work time.
4. May be required to respond on off-duty time during a conflagration, or stay over until an emergency has been terminated or until properly relieved by a qualified dispatcher.
5. Works in close harmony with supervisors, co-workers, and others during day-to-day routines and during emergencies. Is required to maintain good working relationships with on and off-base agencies, maintaining a consistently courteous attitude at all times. Keeps calm and cool during emergency situations.
6. Incumbent must maintain a current NA-EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) certification.
7. Must participate in exercises by relaying accurate information, and follow appropriate checklist. Must be resourceful and alert to adequately perform duties.
8. Incumbent must participate in recurrent proficiency training, as directed.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Lifting (under 14 lbs.), light carrying (under 14 lbs.) reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, ability to distinguish basic colors, and the ability to hear (hearing aid permitted).
WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent must work closely with others, working alone, constant noise (radio, computers, and fans). The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
