Jacobs is seeking an individual to fill a Systems Engineer 4 position at our Hill AFB, Utah location.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
Provide systems engineering and project management support to the Global Positioning System (GPS) Based Range Instrumentation Equipment (GPS- BRIE) Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Possess extensive expertise in the repair, integration and test of range instrumentation equipment.
Serve as the lead engineer in defining technical problems, causes, and solutions for the training range based GPS BRIE supported by the IPT.
Oversee the development of system requirements and interface specific requirements.
Possess an in-depth understanding of GPS based Time Space Position Information (TSPI) instrumentation systems to include both pod and internal mounted systems, associated data link systems, and the operation and maintenance of the data link control and TSPI processing systems.
Assist the IPT Lead in providing management of cost, schedule, and performance of GPS BRIE upgrades and obsolete part replacement efforts.
Document problems encountered during testing and provide recommendations for solution as appropriate.
Review technical information in the form of test and design documents and provide assessments of their adequacy.
Provide technical expertise for formal and informal acceptance tests of various range systems and subsystems.
Manage highly specialized development efforts and lead technical teams through the project process.
Support CMMI process development and implementation activities and provide inputs.
Support Project Managers and their tasks to develop program plans, schedules, and budgets, document requirements; and track and report progress against the project plan.
Conduct interface requirements analysis and develop interface control documents.
Exercise initiative and demonstrate ingenuity in handling testing problems posed by the limitations of systems and the inadequacy of documentation describing them.
Provide expertise in the integration and test of complex systems.
Possess knowledge of software development techniques, multiple languages and operating systems to include real-time operating systems, device drivers and hardware/software integration.
Assist scientific/engineering/technical personnel in defining technical problems, causes, and solutions.
Assist in the development of data collection, processing, and distribution system requirements and subsystem interface requirements.
Qualifications:
Must have the technical competency of a Systems Engineer 4 in computer systems, network technology, operation systems and/or software engineering methods.
Provide technical leadership and function as a System Engineer supporting upgrades, repairs, new developments, obsolete component replacement, and integration/acceptance testing of Test & Evaluation (T&E;) and TSPI systems and telemetry systems.
Ability to develop project proposals and plans, document requirements, develop project schedules and budgets, and track and report progress against project plans.
Ability to create formal test requirements in the form of test data, predictions of expected system behavior, and detailed instructions for testing.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of range test and training information systems.
Possess an in-depth understanding of computer and network systems architectures, systems integration principles and practices, operating systems, network administration, Information Assurance, and data management.
Possess an in-depth understanding of GPS based TSPI instrumentation systems.
Demonstrated ability to perform independent research, analysis, evaluation and in providing recommendations on new and existing technologies focusing on increasing efficiency and effectiveness while eliminating redundancy through integration and consolidation.
Practical working knowledge of being at the center of requirements management across the entire product development lifecycle from feasibility to final deliverable, ensuring delivery is in line with customer expectations.
Understanding of all types of requirements captured including but not limited to, business, commercial, mechanical, electrical, performance, software, certification, environmental etc.
Able to determine and investigate the need or problem and gain agreement from the Customer/Business Owner.
Education and
Experience:
BS degree in math, engineering, system science or computer science with 15 years of similar work experience; or
MS in math, engineering, system science or computer science with 13 years of similar work experience; or
PhD in math, engineering, system science or computer science with 9 years of similar work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary - involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Exerts up 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Work Environment:
Working at a computer or desk (Considerations: sitting, eyes, hands). May involve long periods of sitting or standing depending on current tasking.
Equipment and Machines:
Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Attendance:
With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential. Must be able to work within the shift hours of 0800 and 1700.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
